Biography

Sonia Gilde Rathscheck has over 25 years of international experience across the energy sector, spanning strategy, finance, sustainability, and corporate transformation. She is currently an Associate Partner at CVX Ventures, where she supports founders and early-stage companies on strategy, commercial positioning, governance, and market access. She has held senior roles at companies including FREYR Battery, Equinor, and BP, working at the intersection of energy markets, policy, and industrial decarbonization. Most recently, Sonia served as Chief of Staff and Corporate Board Secretary at FREYR Battery (now T1 Energy), aligning corporate strategy with execution, supporting capital raise processes, and guiding the company through complex policy and market environments. Earlier at Equinor, she led a global commercial transformation program and directed market strategy related to gas investments in Brazil. Sonia holds a master’s degree in Economics from Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, an Executive Master in Energy Management from BI Norwegian Business School and IFP School – French Petroleum Institute, and an MSc in Organizational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is originally from Portugal and has lived in Norway since 2008.
