- Carla Pedro is the Director‑General of APQuímica, the reference association for the Portuguese Chemical, Petrochemical and Refining Sector. She also coordinates the Competitiveness Cluster for Petrochemicals, Industrial Chemicals and Refining – a collaborative initiative recognised by IAPMEI/Ministry of the Economy since 2009, which brings together the Chemical Industry and Academia to develop projects supporting the ongoing transformation of the PT Chemical Industry. With an academic background in Economics and Management, Carla Pedro has over two decades of professional experience across the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on innovation and cross‑sectoral approaches. In the public sector, she held several positions, including as member of the cabinets of the Secretary of State for Administrative Modernisation and of the Deputy-Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development. She also integrated the teams leading the design and negotiation of PT Structural Funds Framework with the European Commission (2007-2014 and 2014-2020). In the private sector, she spent over a decade working on national and international projects, with a strong focus on innovation, green transition and sustainable finance, e.g. at Deloitte Consulting, the European Investment Bank and Cisco Systems International.
